A spectacular aerobatic display by Patrouille Suisse will bring the programme to a conclusion on both days. Squadron Leader Daniel Hoesli reveals in interview why he regards AirPower09 as unique among air shows.
Squadron Leader Hoesli, did you have a pleasant flight to Zeltweg?
But of course. We arrived on Wednesday and were fortunate to have good weather. It was already dry when we landed in Zeltweg.
Besides AirPower09, there are other air shows taking place in Europe this weekend. Why did you choose Zeltweg?
It wasn't a difficult decision: the decision was very easy, in fact, because of the superb organisation and fantastic atmosphere, although we were also invited to Reims. Added to which the Swiss and Austrian Air Forces have always enjoyed a good relationship - not just with regard to the F-5.
What can we expect from the Patrouille Suisse display team, which celebrates its 45th anniversary this year?
We will be performing special aerobatic figures such as the "Matterhorn", the "Melkstuhl" (milking stool) and, of course, our famous closing manoeuvre, the "Final Break", during which flairs are used.
