Arrival of Patrouille Suisse, departure of "Quinton"

The AirPower09 aircraft are arriving thick and fast. Patrouille Suisse and a Saab 105 squadron landed on Wednesday, while the Turkish Stars have been enjoying Styrian hospitality since Monday. Meanwhile, an uninvited guest is already taking its leave: low "Quinton".

Patrouille Suisse is one of the best known aerobatic teams in the world, one of the few to use actual supersonic jet fighters in their displays - and one of the major stars of AirPower09. The Swiss Air Force's six red and white liveried Northrop F-5 Tiger IIs landed in Zeltweg on Wednesday morning.

The low pressure area "Quinton" is expected to move away from the Murtal region from Thursday, say weather forecasters. Mr. Peter Parson, head of Zeltweg's weather briefing station, is not anticipating any problems for Friday or Saturday: "From Thursday it will remain dry, which means there should be no problems and AirPower09 can go ahead as planned. And any small showers that may occur at the weekend will not affect the flight programme."
