Perhaps it is due to the considerable financial expenditures or the fact that pilots tend to be individualists who are very much reluctant to get subordinated to synchronized flight maneuvers: Reality shows that there are not many civilian aerobatic teams. At AirPower09, however, you will be able to see even four of them:
- The Breitling Jet Team is the largest civilian aerobatic team in Europe. Anyhow, the aircraft they use are military ones: The seven pilots fly Aero L-30 Albatros, which are military jet trainers of Czech origin.
- The Flying Bulls Aerobatic Team belongs to the elite of the European aerobatics scene and will present its incredibly precise formation flight by means of four Zlin 50 LX.
- The T-6 Formation is a family enterprise: Walter Eichhorn and his son Toni Eichhorn will demonstrate in their display the aerobatic fitness of the North American T-6 Texan, which is the most built military trainer so far.
- Finally, the Styrian Blanix team will show that gliders also can be used for formation flight.
